The Chambers Group Combines Consumer Research With Digital Marketing

The family agency pairs consumer testing with SEO, paid media and content to help brands refine campaigns and make marketing budgets count.
A family agency is pairing consumer research with modern campaign delivery
The Chambers Group’s pitch rests on a long-running discipline: learn what consumers want before a client commits heavily to a product or campaign. Founded in the mid-1970s by Keith Chambers, the agency built its reputation helping Fortune 500 companies create brands and refresh established ones through positioning, naming, packaging and consumer research.
The Chambers Group now extends that work into product development, creative, search engine optimization and paid advertising. Eric and Branden Chambers grew up around their father’s business, then added experience in storytelling, production and audience engagement from their entertainment careers. Their task is to carry the agency’s established brand-building approach into digital marketing.

Consumer research has been central since Keith opened the agency. Its client work has included Clorox, 3M, ARM & HAMMER and Yoplait. For more than 30 years, the firm has also helped develop names, packaging and marketing for Hoffy products, including Bill Bailey’s premium packaged meats and the Hollywood Hot Dog brand featured at Pink’s in Los Angeles.

The family developed Connectics™, a research process designed to test consumer responses to marketing messages before clients commit substantial campaign budgets. That’s a practical way to reduce the cost of getting a message wrong. A 1999 trademark application records its first commercial use as Nov. 8, 1997, years before today’s digital ad platforms.
Bryan Harpine, formerly director of Global New Products at Church & Dwight, said the process helped grow new products from $10 million–$20 million to $50 million–$100 million. “The key was mining consumer desires for extraordinary benefits which set our products apart,” he said.
The case for testing creative also has broader support. NCSolutions examined nearly 450 consumer packaged goods campaigns in 2023 and found creative accounted for 49% of incremental sales, the largest contribution among the factors measured.
The brothers have added celebrity campaigns to the agency’s repertoire. Alessandra Ambrosio called them “marketing rockstars,” a phrase that appeared in a 2024 USA Today headline. The agency says a campaign featuring Ambrosio, Lele Pons and Hannah Stocking added more than 500,000 Instagram followers for Ambrosio in three days.
Digital growth claims meet tighter marketing budgets
The performance question carries more weight when budgets are constrained. In Gartner’s 2026 CMO Spend Survey, 56% of chief marketing officers said they lacked enough money to execute their strategies. Paid media made up 31.4% of the average marketing budget, leaving brands under pressure to show what that spending produces.
Eric and Branden’s approach combines search visibility, paid advertising and organic content, with consumer testing guiding which messages get campaign investment. Eric argues that each channel fills a gap in the others: paid ads can become costly when spending stops, while SEO and organic social can take too long to yield results. He says brands running all three see average returns of 3X to 6X, which he says the agency delivers. Those are company claims; the fragment doesn’t provide the underlying measurement method.
Alan Morell of Creative Management Partners (CMP), who manages The Chambers Group and Bryan Nitriceuticals, connected the firms. Their collaboration has supported sales growth for N1o1 and No2U. Morell said CMP has worked with The Chambers Group for more than 10 years across over 40 clients, and that the joint work has helped clients move ahead of competitors.

For N1o1, a nitric oxide wellness and skincare company led by Dr. Nathan S. Bryan, The Chambers Group says a year of coordinated advertising on Google, Meta and Amazon lifted net revenue by more than 46%, while advertising spend rose less than 13%. Net profit increased more than 90% year over year. The agency is also helping N1o1’s sister company, No2U, reposition, rename and redesign products across its nutritional supplement range.
Dr. Bryan told OK! that the partnership had increased the business sixfold in six months. The claim is striking, though the fragment offers no detail on the baseline or how the growth was calculated.
The agency has also worked beyond consumer goods. Sentant, a nationwide IT provider serving startups and venture capital firms, hired The Chambers Group for SEO. Campaign data says Sentant reached the top national ranking for “IT services for startups.” CEO James Murphy said the work translated into closed business, with the company up 40% year over year, and credited much of that growth to the agency’s work.
Artificial intelligence adds another moving target. Eric says The Chambers Group keeps updating its research process as tools develop and platforms change how they distribute content. “Our Connectics™ testing and research process is continuously evolving in order to stay out ahead of the quickly evolving marketplace and AI,” he said. The fragment doesn’t specify which AI tools or changes the agency is addressing.
Hollywood production informs the brothers’ marketing approach
Before expanding the family agency’s digital operation, Eric and Branden worked in entertainment. They created, directed and produced The Ultimate Gamer for Spike TV, and co-directed Cheech & Chong’s Animated Movie for 20th Century Fox in 2013.
That background gives their marketing argument a clear through line: distribution and audience response matter as much as the underlying idea. “A great film with no distribution doesn't exist,” Branden said. “A great brand without tested content for social and paid ads will fail.”
The brothers say they expanded the agency’s digital division while preserving the product-development foundation Keith built. “When Branden and I came in and built the digital division, we didn't replace that foundation,” Eric said. “We built on it.”
Keith remains chief creative officer more than 50 years after founding the company; Eric and Branden serve as co-CEOs. The business has moved into channels that barely existed when Keith started it, while keeping the family’s original emphasis on understanding consumers.
